Cyprus is taking another important step towards addressing one of the biggest challenges created by the rapid growth of solar power: how to store and use renewable electricity when the grid cannot absorb it immediately. The Electricity Authority of Cyprus, EAC, is moving ahead with major battery energy storage projects at its Dhekelia and Moni power stations, with a combined planned capacity of 180 MW and 360 MWh.
