Our Story
Eletoyia Photovoltaics began in 2010 with a simple but ambitious vision: to bridge the gap between academic photovoltaic research and real-world solar installations in Cyprus. What started as one founder's mission has evolved into a company that operates at the intersection of cutting-edge research and practical market solutions.
Where Science Meets the Sun
Our approach is unique in the Cyprus renewable energy sector. We don't just install solar systems — we develop them from the ground up. Our work spans commercial installations across Cyprus and advanced R&D projects funded by European and national sources. This dual perspective lets us identify real market gaps and engineer solutions that work in Cyprus's demanding climate.

Innovation in Our DNA
Our team develops intelligent algorithms using machine learning and AI for soiling detection, system forecasting, and performance optimization. We've created fault detection systems, pioneered blockchain-based platforms for energy trading with the University of Cyprus, and are developing Cyprus's first dedicated photovoltaic research laboratory — featuring solar flashing devices, environmental chambers for accelerated testing, and equipment to explore everything from traditional silicon to Perovskite solar cells.

Led by Academic Excellence
Dr. Yiannis Tofis, our Founder and CEO, brings a rare blend of academic rigor and entrepreneurial drive. With a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Cyprus, an engineering degree from the National Technical University of Athens, and an MSc in Telecommunications from UCL, he founded Eletoyia while pursuing doctoral research. For 15+ years he's led the company's growth while staying active in Cyprus's research community.
